Bowie has lost his beloved wife and children to a cholera epidemic and he is a brooding man, drinking and looking for a good place to die. The Alamo will be that place. |
Rebecca Cummings, 22, is engaged to William Travis. Travis leaves her to seek fame and fortune in the wilds of Texas. She resents his abandoning her, but loves him nevertheless, and soon follows him, but not to join him. |
